He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother – Hillsborough Cover

Earlier this year, the families of the 96 victims at Hillsborough got a huge boost, when they finally got to hear the truth about that awful day.  By now most of you will have read all about that, and will have been relieved that the first step towards justice finally happened.  That was by no means the end though.  There is still plenty of work to be done to get to the stage where these families can get some closure.  In order to help that a new single has come out, and it would be fantastic if it would get to Christmas no 1.  Here is the video on YouTube:

It’s only GBP 1 and for a worthy cause.  You can also download it on iTunes.

  1. Wow, I remember that. I just can’t believe it took until September of 2012 to come to the conclusion that the Liverpool fans were not responsible. I guess all that personal responsibility shite only applies to the plebeian masses… Sigh.

  2. Reblogged this on The Dead Console Society and commented:
In 1989, at the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, Liverpool fans were ushered onto terraces like cattle due to piss poor management and general incompetency of the event’s handlers resulting in a human crush. 96 people died. Over 700 injured. It took them till September of 2012 (that’s this year folks) to come to the conclusion that no Liverpool fans were responsible.

My friend, Malteserinhk, would like you to help get “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother,” a Hillsborough charity cover (with a heck of a lot of famous Scousers in it, I might add), to number 1 on the charts by Christmas.
